Marvel Robots Sticker Kit Assembly Guide

Marvel Robots Sticker Kit Assembly Guide

This guide will help you assemble all of the characters included in the Marvel Robots Sticker Kit and provide recommendations for donor parts, optional upgrades, and assembly tips. One of the goals of this project was to create a collection of characters that could be assembled using existing Minimate parts with little to no painting required.

General Sticker Application Tips

All stickers in this kit are peel-and-stick. For the best results, I recommend using a black Sharpie or other permanent marker to color the exposed white edges of the sticker paper after application. This simple step helps hide the paper edge and makes the finished custom look much more professional.

Every sticker design has its own ideal method of application. If you would like to see examples of how I apply stickers, you can watch this video from one of our previous kits. We are currently working on a new video for this kit, but the principles are the same.

One thing that is different is that this kit includes a sheet of glossy stickers for Jocasta and ROM the Space Knight. These are intended for use on silver Minimate base figures, as detailed below. This paper will need a tiny bit of super glue applied for the face, forearm, and thigh stickers, otherwise the edges will pop up. And when I say a tiny bit, I mean like the tip of a pencil.

Recommended Base Parts:

Jocasta

Recommended parts:

  • Silver Minimates such as Silver Surfer, Stilt Man, First Appearance Iron Man, or many others

The Standard Kit includes an unpainted Jocasta hair piece.

The Deluxe Kit includes a silver-painted Jocasta hair piece.

ROM the Space Knight

Recommended parts:

  • Silver Minimates such as Silver Surfer, Stilt Man, First Appearance Iron Man, or many others

ARCH-E-5912 (From Planet Hulk)

Recommended parts:

  • I used Cosmic Ghost Rider, but you can use many different black or dark gray Minimates as a base.

Optional upgrades:

  • Silver shoulder pads from Avalanche or Darkhawk

Demolisher

Recommended parts:

  • Titanium Man (Marvel Wave 32)

  • Black or dark green torso and head

For a quick and easy version, simply use the existing boots from Titanium Man.

For a more accurate version:

  • Use dark green feet and apply the included boot stickers

Albert (Robot Wolverine)

Recommended parts:

  • Flesh-colored torso and arms

  • Wolverine hair piece

  • Wolverine claws

Optional upgrades:

  • Gray, silver, or mechanical right arm

  • Silver shoulder pads from Avalanche or Darkhawk

The leg armor stickers can be applied over most tan or brown pants pieces.

Recommended feet color:

  • Black or brown

The Deluxe Kit includes all donor parts needed for Albert.

Super-Adaptoid

Recommended parts:

  • Hydra Elite (Marvel Series 54 or TRU Wave 18)

The included shield sticker is designed for the newer flat Captain America shields, such as:

  • Red Guardian

  • John Walker Captain America

Additional recommendations:

  • Thor's hammer

  • Paint the hammer green for greater comic accuracy

  • Wings from Zik (Battle Beasts) or other clear wings, or paint a set of wings green

If using wings, cut the harness away and super glue the wings directly to the back of the figure.

Important: Do not glue over the sticker. Instead, trim away the portion of the sticker where the wings will attach and glue directly to the plastic body.

The Deluxe Kit includes the Super-Adaptoid body and shield.

Phalanx Drone

Recommended parts:

  • Any black Minimate body

Optional upgrades:

  • Upper arm pieces from Warlock (TRU Wave 9)

  • Accessories from Warlock (TRU Wave 9)

These parts help capture the techno-organic look of the character.

Ragnarok Thor

Recommended parts:

  • Any classic Thor Minimate

Ragnarok Thor is one of the easiest customs in the kit and can be created using most traditional Thor bodies and accessories.

Final Thoughts on this Kit

One of the things I enjoy most about customizing is seeing how different collectors approach the same character. Don't feel like you need to follow these recommendations exactly. If you have a part that looks better or works better for your collection, use it!

I hope you enjoy building these characters as much as I enjoyed designing them. Thanks for supporting our custom releases!
